The semi-final lineup for the 2024/25 TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup is complete, with debutants Stellenbosch FC headlining a dramatic quarter-final round that saw defending champions Zamalek SC eliminated on home soil.
In one of the biggest upsets in the tournament’s history, South Africa’s Stellenbosch FC stunned the Egyptian giants with a 1-0 aggregate win, clinched by a famous away victory in Cairo. The result guarantees a new champion this season, as Stellenbosch advance to the final four alongside Simba SC (Tanzania), CS Constantine (Algeria), and two-time winners RS Berkane (Morocco).
The semi-finals, set to be played over two legs on April 20 and 27, promise intense matchups. Simba SC will face Stellenbosch FC in what’s expected to be a battle of attacking football, while RS Berkane continue their quest for a third title against a confident CS Constantine side that ousted former champions USM Alger.
RS Berkane remain the only former champion left in the competition, having lifted the trophy in 2020 and 2022. Meanwhile, Simba, Stellenbosch, and Constantine are each looking to etch their names in continental history with a maiden title.
