Round one of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations is behind us, but there’s no time to dwell on the first set of fixtures, as the second matchday gets underway tonight.

Nine of the first twelve games ended with a 1-0, we hope Day 5 of AFCON 2021 will provide some more goals and action. For the curious fans and for those interested in finding a direction for their betting fix, here are our predictions for today’s games.

Cameroon v Ethiopia, 17:00 CET, Stade Olembé, Yaoundé

Cameroon will look to guarantee an early spot in the knockout rounds, while the Ethiopians will try to grab whatever the African football gods will let them.

BabaGol’s Prediction: It won’t be smooth sailing, it won’t be eye-catching, but Cameroon will get another three points here.

Bet365: Cameroon 1.28 | Draw 5.00 | Ethiopia 13.00

Cape Verde v Burkina Faso, 20:00 CET, Stade Olembé, Yaoundé

Cape Verde gained some confidence after starting their campaign with a victory, but Burkina Faso has a more talented team, and a variety of tools at their disposal in midfield and attack. If the Burkinabeans can hold their nerve at the back, they will get a deserved win, especially after playing very well in the first game against the hosts Cameroon. Pay attention to Gustavo Sangaré, who scored Burkina Faso’s goal in the last game. This guy is a serious gem.

BabaGol’s Prediction: Burkina Faso to win. They are a better team, and must win to keep their knockout dream alive.

Bet365: Cape Verde 3.50 | Draw 2.87 | Burkina Faso 2.40
