AFCON 2021 predictions: Impressive Nigeria aim for maximum points

What a night! The 2021 Africa Cup of Nations produced two thrillers on Tuesday, with Gabon and Morocco ending in a 2-2 draw - both teams qualified for the knockout rounds - while Comoros shocked the world, knocking out Ghana with a heroic 3-2 victory.

The last round of the group stages continues today, with some more cracking matches.

Egypt v Sudan, 20:00 CET, Stade Ahmadou Ahidjou, Yaoundé

Egypt haven’t been impressive under Carlos Queiroz so far, and are on the hunt for a statement victory that will show all of Africa that they are serious about going far in this competition. When they played Sudan in the Arab Cup last December, it ended with a dazzling 5-0 for the Pharaohs - could it be more of the same this time around?

BabaGol’s prediction: Egypt will win, but won’t be able to convince its fans and media.

365Bet odds: Egypt 1.25 | Draw 5.00 | Sudan 17.00

Guinea-Bissau v Nigeria, 20:00 CET, Stade Omnisport Roumdé Adija, Garoua

Guinea-Bissau have simple dreams - maybe to nab the third place spot in their group, maybe not. Nigeria are arguably the most impressive team in the competition so far, and will hope to give some members of their extensive squad a run out before things get too serious in the knockouts.

BabaGol’s prediction: Guinea-Bissau will push at the beginning, but it will be the Super Eagles’ night yet again, and Nigeria will end the group stage with nine points in their pocket.

365Bet odds: Guinea Bissau 5.25 | Draw 3.50 | Nigeria 1.70
