FIFA and Global Citizen have joined forces to launch the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, a new initiative unveiled at the Global Citizen NOW summit in New York.
The fund aims to raise $100 million over four years to provide children worldwide with access to quality education and football.
Announced by FIFA President Gianni Infantino and Global Citizen CEO Hugh Evans, the fund will channel support to grassroots education programs across more than 200 countries. Half of the funds will be directed to FIFA's Football for Schools (F4S) program, a joint effort with UNESCO to use football as a tool for learning and life skills.
The initiative will engage football fans, businesses, and philanthropists globally. In the U.S., $1 from every ticket sold to FIFA Club World Cup 2025™ matches will go to the fund, with tickets now available at FIFA.com/tickets.
Technology firm Shift4 will support donations by enabling over 200,000 of its merchant partners to accept contributions at the point of sale. Additionally, entertainment events and artists like The Weeknd have pledged support, directing proceeds to the fund.
“This fund is about more than football—it’s about creating a future where every child has a chance to learn, grow, and thrive,” said Infantino.
