West Bank Premier League: Hilal Al-Quds and Reebal Dahamshe want to change direction

The Palestinian West Bank Premier League returned on Wednesday, after a short break.

In the centre of Hilal Al-Quds's victory over Taraji Wadi Al-Nees 2-0, it was Reebal Dahamsheh. Dahamsheh, 17, is an Israeli citizen and a former player of Hapoel Nof Hagelil, who just signed three days ago with the Jerusalemite club of the Palestinian league.

Dhamsheh counts as a great talent, represented Palestine in a tournament in Bangladesh last year while he was still playing in an Israeli team (Nof Hagalil), what was considered a kind of precedent. Now, when he plays for a Palestinian club, it remains to be seen if he will be able to go to Europe and become the second "Munas Dabbur" or "the first European Fidai", or join the long list of Palestinian stars with Israeli citizenship, who were stuck in the middle and couldn’t fulfil their potential.

Hilal Al-Quds is in a difficult and volatile season so far, and it is possible that the arrival of Dahamsha and Islam Al-Batran, the Palestinian national team player who also signed for them this week, will change their fortune for the second half of the season. With Mohamed Darwish, Musa Farawi, Samer Jundi, Mohamed Obeid, Mahmoud Awesat, Batran and Dahamsheh, they have one of the most talented teams in the professional league.
