Among the deceased were two dedicated football fans: Hersh Goldberg-Poulin, a supporter of Hapoel Jerusalem and Werder Bremen, and Uri Danino, a Beitar Jerusalem fan. The news sent shockwaves through the Israeli football community and beyond.
Nationwide Protests and Solidarity Strike

After an hour of negotiations, the Israeli Professional Football Leagues (IPFL) board officially canceled the match. In its statement, the IPFL acknowledged both the pitch invasion by Hapoel Be'er Sheva fans and Bnei Sakhnin's subsequent refusal to play.
