Coronavirus Times: Rukh Brest is Breaking Bad

Belarus’ eighth matchday resumed on Saturday, with two matches taking place.

After Slutsk’s loss against Eneregtik-BGU yesterday, Saturday hosted two Vysheyshaya Liga matches which were broadcasted live at BabaGol in collaboration with MyCujoo.

While the clash between Slaviya Mozyr and Torpedo-BelAZ Zhodino ended in a timid 0-0 draw, the game between Neman Grodno and Rukh Brest has produced the regular amount of action we are used to from the Belarusian Premier League.

Vladislav Vasiljev opened the scoring after four minutes, Denis Grechikho added the second in 14th and Rukh looked comfortable for the three points.

The Brest-based club enjoyed a penalty call which Pavel Sedko converted in the 55th minute, but then the match went crazy.

Armenian Gegam Kadimyan scored a beautiful goal for the hosts on the 68th minute and made it 1-3.

Four minutes to the final whistle, Vasiljev earned a second yellow card and was dismissed. This didn’t bother Gheorghe Andronic to score Rukh’s fourth in 89th minute. 4-1 in favor of the visitors. Two minutes later, Kadimyan scored another to save some of the local team’s pride, but this was the final move in the match. 4-2 Rukh.

If you would ask someone from Brest if they imagined that Rukh Brest will be ranked five places above Dynamo after eight games, they would tell you are delusional.

Tomorrow, the reigning champions will look to twist the story of their season so far, as it seems like it’s running away for them.
