Chungnam Asan FC vs Suwon FC

Suwon FC hammered hosts Chungnam Asan FC by five goals and moved up to the 3rd place. Asan, the successor of police team Asan Mugunghwa, have to wait for another matchday for the first victory.

The first twenty minutes were dominated by the hosts, but Mo Jae-hyun’s long range effort after a Johan Cruyff-like touch in the 22nd minute changed everything. Asan set the tempo high after conceding one but their hopes vanished as Japanese forward Masatoshi Ishida doubled Suwon’s lead in the 40th minute with a fine right footed strike.

The remaining 45 minutes were no different. Only a minute after the break, An Byong-jun scored the third for Suwon, and the fourth came in from the same player after just five minutes. Both goals were made by An’s one-man effort and with his right foot. The fourth was An’s fourth goal of the season and he now scored in all three games. It was the North Korean international’s day.

The match was already in favor of Suwon, but they wanted more goals. Their work was fruitful as Brazilian forward Danilo Alves flicked Lee Han-saem’s attempt with his head and netted his first goal in Korea in the 74th minute.

Suwon proved that they are strong candidates to gain promotion as they scored seven goals in the last two matches. Asan would eye for an experienced player who could lead this young squad that is easily swayed by the atmosphere.

Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors vs Daegu FC

Reigning champions Jeonbuk are having the best possible start to their season with two victories in a row, and today they have extended the number to three at the Jeonbuk World Cup Stadium against Daegu FC. Daegu, on the other hand, dearly missed Cesinha who was out due to groin pain.

The first half was a stalemate as both teams failed to find the net. Cho Gyu-sung’s header in 36th minute which was nicely saved by Daegu goalie Choi Young-eun was the closest to a goal both teams combined. As expected, hosts Jeonbuk dominated the half.

But the scenario went completely different right at the beginning of the second half. Brazilian winger Murilo dribbled past three defenders and paid off his effort with a fine left footed shot in the 47th minute. It was his maiden goal for Jeonbuk and in K League.

Cho Gyu-sung, who narrowly missed a chance to score earlier, eventually managed to score in the 70th minute. Kim Jin-su’s curling ball reached Takahiro Kunimoto and the header from Japanese midfielder was deflected off Choi Young-eun. But Cho was the first to find a ball and tapped it in.

The last five minutes of the game was a party of red cards. First to open up the account was Kim Sun-min of Daegu. He was shown his second yellow after the challenge to Kim Bo-kyung and sent off the pitch. Five minutes later, the goal scorer Cho was forced to leave the pitch after being booked twice in one minute.

But the relay of cards couldn’t affect Jeonbuk’s easy 2-0 win. They became the only team in the first tier to win all the first three matches after Ulsan Hyundai drew against Busan IPark 1-1. Daegu, with two draws and one loss, are still keen to get their first win of the season.
